Organic Goat Milk: The Holle Collection Comparison
Organic goat milk formulas are getting popular with parents. Goat milk has less lactose than cow milk, so it can be used as an alternative to hypoallergenic formulas for children who are lactose intolerant.
Some major formula manufacturers are now making goat milk products for children, and at the top of that list is Holle. The company has Stage 1, Stage 2, and Stage 3 goat milk formulas for different age groups. The question, however, is: Is there any difference between these three products? Let's find out.
Age Groups – All three Holle goat milk formulas are made for different age groups. The Stage 1 formula is suitable for children from birth to six months. The Stage 2 Holle goat milk is for children from six to ten months, while the Stage 3 milk is for children from ten months to twelve months.
Organic Certification – The entire organic goat milk collection by Holle is EU certified organic. Holle cow's milk products are also certified by Demeter, but the goat's milk range is not Demeter certified.
Probiotics and Prebiotics – Holle goat’s milk collection does not contain probiotics and prebiotics.
Whey – The Holle goat milk Stage 1 contains whey. The Stage 2 and Stage 3 products are free of whey.
Lactose – All three Holle goat’s milk formulas contain lactose.
Starch – Holle has removed starch from the Stage 1 formula. The carbohydrate is, however, present in the other two formulas.
Palm Oil – All three goat’s milk formulas are free of palm oil.
Maltodextrin – The entire goat’s milk range contains maltodextrin.
Soy – No Holle goat’s milk formula contains soy in its ingredients.
DHA – As per the latest guidelines laid down by the European Commission, all three goat’s milk formulas by Holle contain DHA.
Note: Always make sure that you consult a pediatrician before shifting your child to formula milk.
